TikTok user BabyFace.S, also known as Swavy, was dead, according to a video and a post from an influential friend, Damaury Mikula, on social media. Wilmington, Delaware police confirmed in a press release on July 6 that the victim of a fatal shooting on July 5, 2021 in that city was Matima Miller, who according to Inside Eko is Swavy's real name. The motive and suspect have not been released.
The social media influencer and TikTok star had more than 2.3 million followers on the latter platform, where he called himself BabyFace.S. The most recent video of him has more than 3 million views. When reports of his death erupted on Twitter, some people said they were crying because they found the news so sad. "Rip Swavy, I don't even know you, but I know you changed people's lives by making them smile," wrote a fan on Twitter.

I'm not going to say his real name here ... but yeah, man ... he got shot, and I just want everyone to know that I'm about to replace that black. All he did was make videos. ... he's real as hell. Real real. As soon as we met brother, we locked ourselves up like this. … Keeps everything real. Watching him take it out just doesn't make sense. Has no sense."

The Inside Eko site reported that Swavy, whose real name was Matima Miller, according to the outlet, and who lived in Wilmington, Delaware, "was killed in a shooting that occurred Monday near the 700 block of Elbert Place." Authorities said Miller was the victim of a shooting on that block.

Of that shooting, Wilmington police said only in a news release: “Wilmington police are investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred at approximately 10:42 a.m. in the 700 block of Elbert Place. Police located a 19-year-old man who was shot, who was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. This incident remains under investigation and more details will be provided when possible.
