Samuel Olson Wiki - Samuel Olson Biography
Samuel Olson ’s father’s girlfriend, Theresa Balboa, was charged with falsifying evidence after a body believed to be that of a missing 5-year-old boy was found in a motel room in Jasper, Texas. An anonymous tip from the Crime Stoppers led police to find the body on Tuesday night at a Best Western motel about two hours northeast of Houston, days after the teenage boy was reported missing.
Police say Samuel was last in school at Holbrook Elementary in Cy-Fair ISD. While police have said April 30 was the last time anyone outside Samuel's family saw him, his grandmother Tonya Olson said she saw him after that on May 2 while he and his cousins visited her house.
She added that she last spoke with the 6-year-old about a week and a half ago. So when's the last time you saw him?" A reporter asked Olson on June 1. May 2 is the last time I physically had my hands on Sam," she said. Theresa Balboa, the girlfriend of Samuel's father Dalton Olson, reported Samuel missing.
According to police, she said she last saw Samuel around 7 a.m. on this day. I was going to take Sam to school when his mother showed up with the police officer, or who I was under the impression to be a police officer, and they demanded me to release Sam," explained Balboa. Balboa said she handed the young boy to the mom because the parents are in a custody battle.
However, HPD Assistant Chief of Criminal Investigations Command Heather Morris would say in a briefing just days later that during the investigation, they were provided evidence that Samuel's mom was at her own home the morning of May 27.
Samuel Olson Age
Samuel Olson was 5 years old.
Cause of Death
The body found in a Jasper, Texas motel has not yet been positively ID'd as that of the child, but police believe it is. Houston police have arrested and charged a woman after the reported disappearance of 6-year-old Samuel Olson last week.
Police announced Wednesday morning the child's dad's girlfriend, Theresa Balboa, is in custody. She was allegedly found at a Jasper, Texas motel room on Tuesday — the same room where a child's body was also located.
The Harris County District Attorney has accepted a charge of tampering with evidence against Balboa, Houston Police Assistant Chief Heather Morris said at a 10 a.m. press conference on Wednesday. As of this morning, Balboa was still in jail in Jasper but will be brought back to Houston.
Suspect Arrested
Samuel’s grandmother, Tonya Olson, had made a crying call to the public for help in finding the boy earlier in the day his body was found.
In May, we reported the horrific murder of four-year-old Texas native Cash Gernon. Gernon’s fatally stabbed body was found in the middle of Dallas street. 18-year-old Darriynn Brown was the main suspect in the case.
Samuel’s body was found at the Best Western Inn on the 200 block of West Gibson Street shortly before 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, Kjas News reported. The family says the boy turned six on Saturday, May 5. Jasper Police Chief Gerald Hall stated in a media interaction that the body was found in a bag in a room on the west side of the motel complex. Given the condition of the body, Hall added, “the body had been there for a while.”

On May 27, 2021, Samuel Olson, a resident of northwest Houston, was reported missing by family members, but police said there was conflicting information about the last time he was seen. He last attended school until April 30, 2021. In an appeal, Samuel’s grandmother told local media that she “last saw and held Sam on May 2, when she and her cousins were visiting her house.” He said he spoke to Samuel about a week and a half ago. On Monday, May 31, Houston police searched the apartment rented by an acquaintance of Samuel’s father’s girlfriend at Gateway in Ellington, Houston. They had been informed that it was the last place Samuel had been seen. On Tuesday night, June 1, Tonya told the media: “We’re really confused about everything that’s going on right now.”
Samuel’s father’s girlfriend, Theresa Balboa, reported that she last saw the boy on Thursday morning, May 27, at 8800 block of McAvoy Drive, southwest of Houston. He said: “I was going to take Sam to school when his mother showed up with the police officer or when I got the impression that he was a police officer, and they wanted me to release Sam.” He also told the police that he had given Samuel to his mother. However, police investigators have so far been unable to confirm this information and are working on the possibility that Samuel may have gone missing weeks ago.
Samuel’s mother, Sarah Olson’s lawyer, said she hadn’t seen her son in almost a year. Marco Gonzalez told KTRK-TV: “Our client has primary custody, but our client has been denied access to the child for months. Our client hasn’t been able to reach young Samuel for months.” Gonzalez also denied Balboa’s claim that Sarah had taken him from him, saying “that’s not entirely true”.
