Timothy Granison is the husband of Rochester Mayor. was arraigned in the Hall of Justice Thursday morning on criminal charges resulting from the search of the home he shares with the mayor Wednesday. That same investigation, a drug-related probe of the New York State Police, also led to the arrest Wednesday of a second man. The specific charges will be outlined at arraignment.
Granison, 42, of Rochester pleaded not guilty to three felonies — two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of criminal possession of a firearm.

Arrested - Charges
According to City Court documents, Granison is accused of possessing 31 grams of cocaine and a gun.
Local lawyer John DeMarco represented Granison at the arraignment Thursday. Canandaigua City Court Judge Jacqueline Sisson remotely handled the arraignment from Canandaigua, while Granison appeared remotely via video from the Monroe County Jail.
Granison was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court on June 21, which is one day before Rochester's mayoral primary. Warren is currently seeking a third four-year term and faces off against City Councilman Malik Evans in a June 22 primary.
The case is also expected to be presented to a Monroe County grand jury. Granison was convicted for a role in a 1997 armed robbery of The Source jewelry store on West Ridge Road in Greece. He was sentenced to five years probation. Warren faced questions about her husband's past crimes on the eve of her inauguration to her first term in office in 2013.
"Tim learned a great deal from the experience, and is now a loving husband, father and contributing member of our community," Warren said then. State Police and the Monroe County District Attorney's Office will hold an 11 a.m. news conference on the incident at the DA's Office. Granison had previously served five years of probation stemming from his role in a 1997 armed jewelry heist, the paper said.
“The Mayor is just learning about the events that unfolded this afternoon and has no more information than the rest of the community,” Rochester’s city communications director, Justin Roj, said in a Wednesday night statement, according to multiple local outlets.
“She hopes to learn more details this evening and will have a statement tomorrow. Warren, who is facing campaign finance fraud charges, is also accused of lying to the public about the 2020 death of Daniel Prude, who suffocated while under arrest and died a week later. In February, a grand jury voted not to indict the Rochester police officers involved in his death.
